Flor del Sol (Flower of the Sun) Series
Flor del Sol is JuanCarlos’ iconic series, a parallel narrative story that encompasses eight series in paintings and three series in sculpture, all to recount a poignant love story. This story took the artist around 15 years to complete, he began it around the time we brought in our first three rescues - Zoey the cat, and Luna and Nova, whom are in the photo below.
The idea is centered around a concept of a Flower of Love (Flor), growing and existing on the sun. Upon seeing so much destruction on earth, when the flower was to reincarnate, she asked the creator to send her seed and allow her to be born on the surface of the sun instead, to forever remain engulfed in flames, as a protest to the ways we’re devouring our home planet...to serve as a reminder every time we look up, all in hopes to incite us to change and become benevolent beings we were always meant to be. One can notice the silhouette of the flower is almost always black, symbolizing it being burned, as a sacrifice for humanity.

Flor's Flower Buds
Flower Buds is part of the Flor del Sol series. It is the beginning stage, where the flower is in its buds phase, about to open and blossom into a Flor del Sol.
Flor's Hollow Flower
This sub-series touches on the very moment where the Flor del Sol's life cycle is on its last breath, where the seed of the flower goes off to the surface of the sun, hence the hollow circle.
Flor's Particles Series
Particles is the point in the Flor del Sol story where Flor’s body disintegrates into Particles, or cosmic dust, and floats off into the cosmos, to become components of galaxies and create new life in the vastness of space.
Flor's Suspended Animation Series (Particles Sub-series)
Exploring paintings without canvas! The pieces from this series are suspended either on acrylic paint or on rope directly onto the frame. JuanCarlos began experimenting with this canvas-less fun style in 2019.
Suspended Animation is a sub-series of Particles Series, which in turn derives from the Flor del Sol Series, a concept of a Flower of Love.

Flor's Abstract Photo Reality
#AbstractPhotoReality (Art Against Pollution) is a concept of painted skies, created in 2015 by JuanCarlos rLora.
First debuted in 2017 by the Red Dot/Spectrum Art Fairs, under Planet3arth Art Exhibits.
It is a concept which visually combines imagination with reality, realism with abstraction, or real life with art, almost wanting to have the viewer step inside the piece, looking up at an abstract painted sky.
The narrative tells the story of a scientist who releases an agent onto the wind that stains pollution, each different pollutant in a different color, so it remains present and obvious (in front of our eyes) therefore, finally inciting us to seek change collectively.
The way it ties into our Flor del Sol story is that our protagonist “Flor” experiences or rather sees the world’s pollution in colors, finally convincing herself to ask the creator to allow her to exist on the surface of the Sun, as a protest to humanity’s destruction.
After extensive research to see if this concept of painted skies was being applied by any other artist, we came to learn that it was in fact not used by anyone, thus making JuanCarlos the first.

Flor's Bent Series
This series touches on the ever-growing instability of the human condition, as told in JuanCarlos’ parallel narrative concept story, entitled ‘Flor.’ Even though the buildings are whimsical and somewhat colorful, they are lopsided and incorrect, symbolizing our current state of existence...
Flor's Fading World Series
In the parallel narrative entitled 'Flor', The Fading World Series is an event that happens simultaneously as the flower dies and disperses into the Cosmos as particles; the cities then turn to ash, symbolically mimicking the events of the flower as it fades away.
In reality, it touches on the fragility of our existence as a result of our own behavior, pertaining to the world; we're ravaging and devouring the planet, yet we seem to point our fingers outwards, first to blame everyone else for a damage we are contributing to and then, to expect that someone else will take care of said damage...

Flor's Clown Series
In the parallel narrative entitled 'Flor', The Clown Series, represents the way mankind feels when it lives without seeking change, lying on the outside while feeling empty on the inside, hiding under a never ending smile, while broken inside...
