Popsicle
60” x 42” - Acrylic and Oil on Canvas
Born on a renegade endeavor, a pirated live painting and a mini exhibit in the garden of a museum of modern art, which, as others do, generally claims unsolicited/unwelcomed, the weight of the eyes of the spectators and the impending arrival of authority made the beginning swift and messy. But, as their approval became evident, and the authorities never arrested the process, the rush slowed and the dance with discovery and colors took charge. "Your work should be in there, not out here!" the crowd exclaimed. "It certainly is better than most of the work in there," others yelled. And with all the comfort and calm of the moment this piece was born, anonymously and defiant...
The geometrical shapes in the background remind us of Joan Miró or perhaps Piet Mondrian, however, JuanCarlos draws his inspiration from music and its vibrations.
Popsicle is a hybrid between two series, Silhouettes & Flower Buds.
